Even those allergic to musicals may be won over by Once, a tender-hearted Irish romance with songs by Czech Republic-born Markéta Irglová and Frames frontman Glen Hansard. (The film's director, John Carney, actually used to play bass in the group.) The trick here is that Irglová and Hansard also play the leads; because their characters are shown busking, writing music, or rehearsing, the songs are smoothly integrated in the film. The overall acoustic mood won't surprise fans of the Frames--some tracks ("Say It to Me," "When Your Mind's Made Up") have even popped up on the band's albums, though the arrangements are more pared-down here, befitting the scruffy, street-musician setting. Being the lesser-known entity, Irglová feels like a revelation; she sounds a bit like a folkie Björk on "If You Want Me," and her song "The Hill" is downright heartbreaking. Irglová and Hansard had already made the 2006 album The Swell Seasontogether, so their collaboration here feels really organic--they sound particularly good together on the title track, for instance. After reading this book three times, I finally decided to give it a try. Well, my weight loss was absolutely fabulous. Everything that Kevin said was in fact true. Yeah, it is a 500 calorie a day diet, but you do not get hungry. What you do feel is that you miss food. But, if you drink the teas recommended, they give you energy, speed up your metabolism and give you a sense of wellness. You can actually taste the medicinal properties in them. What I found interesting is that in those six weeks, I lost about 30lbs. It was very dramatic because all my friends talked about how much of my stomach was gone, but most importantly how healthy that I looked. About the same time, I noticed coworkers loosing weight. And, as Kevin mentioned in the book, they lost structural fat and not excess fat as I did. They did not look well to me. But I looked fabulous. At the end of the six weeks, interestingly enough I had no desire to binge. I did not run for the chocolate. I still eat it, but I truly made a lifestyle change. To date, I have managed to loose 65 lbs. Once you understand WHY you are fat, it is far easier to loose it. Kudos to Kevin.

I ordered this book after seeing the infomercial. It is very misleading, his solution is to use a drug available only overseas. I returned the book within the time period and after calling the 800 for a return code. This took 15 minutes of hold time and I didn't get my money back. Not worth it!

Mulan (voiced by Ming-Na Wen, sung by Lea Salonga) has just made a disastrous appearance at the Matchmaker and decides to challenge society's expectations (being a bride). She steals her father's conscription notice, cuts her hair, and impersonates a man to join the army. She goes to boot camp, learning to fit in with the other soldiers with some help from her sidekick, Mushu, a wise-cracking dragon (voiced by Eddie Murphy). She trains, and soon faces the Huns eye-to-eye to protect her Emperor.
The film is gorgeous to look at, with a superior blend of classic and computer-generated animation. Directors Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook make the best of it: a battle in the snowy mountains is as thrilling as the best Hollywood action films. The menacing Huns are not cute but simple and bad. The wickedness is subtle, not disturbing. The film is not a full-fledged musical, as it has only five songs (the best, "Be a Man," is sung during boot camp). Eddie Murphy is an inspired choice for the comic-relief dragon, but his lines are not as clever as Robin Williams's in Aladdin. These are minor quibbles, though. The story is strong, and Mulan goes right to the top of Disney animated heroines; she has the right stuff. --Doug Thomas

After reading this book three times, I finally decided to give it a try. Well, my weight loss was absolutely fabulous. Everything that Kevin said was in fact true. Yeah, it is a 500 calorie a day diet, but you do not get hungry. What you do feel is that you miss food. But, if you drink the teas recommended, they give you energy, speed up your metabolism and give you a sense of wellness. You can actually taste the medicinal properties in them. What I found interesting is that in those six weeks, I lost about 30lbs. It was very dramatic because all my friends talked about how much of my stomach was gone, but most importantly how healthy that I looked. About the same time, I noticed coworkers loosing weight. And, as Kevin mentioned in the book, they lost structural fat and not excess fat as I did. They did not look well to me. But I looked fabulous. At the end of the six weeks, interestingly enough I had no desire to binge. I did not run for the chocolate. I still eat it, but I truly made a lifestyle change. To date, I have managed to loose 65 lbs. Once you understand WHY you are fat, it is far easier to loose it. Kudos to Kevin.

I ordered this book after seeing the infomercial. It is very misleading, his solution is to use a drug available only overseas. I returned the book within the time period and after calling the 800 for a return code. This took 15 minutes of hold time and I didn't get my money back. Not worth it!

I purchased this backpack for my high schooler, who always seems to run through backpacks incredibly fast. The review made the product seem superior than other backpacks, and it was more expensive than the ones I usually find at our local mass-merchandise store. The backpack turned out to be nothing more than the ordinary ones we buy.
If your child isn't carrying a heavy load of books on a daily basis, this would have worked; however mine does, and this backpack is no different than the cheaper ones at any store.

Jan sport book bags are always last forever. I have three and I probably could use only one for everything. They are very durable. This particular one, I decided to buy because it has many compartments and is bigger than the average book bag. I love how all of the compartments are, they are perfect or all of me needs. I would recommend this book bag to anyone who is in school. I am in college and it is very useful because i can put many things in this book bag and not have to carry around much else. There are also very wide and comfortable straps.

Absolutely fantastic and engaging. The most important thing this book has to offer is hope and I am for any and all books which offer realistic hope. I have suffered through a lot in my life and have overcome nearly as much, but book after book left me wanting. This book did not. It delivered. I have always needed improvement for my brain - I have ADD, suffered from PTSD and Depression.

Solid entertainment from a new group of Disney animators. The story source is a Chinese fable about a young girl who disguises herself as a man to help her family and her country. When the Huns attack China, a call to arms goes out to every village, and Mulan's father, being the only man in the family, accepts the call. Mulan (voiced by Ming-Na Wen, sung by Lea Salonga) has just made a disastrous appearance at the Matchmaker and decides to challenge society's expectations (being a bride). She steals her father's conscription notice, cuts her hair, and impersonates a man to join the army. She goes to boot camp, learning to fit in with the other soldiers with some help from her sidekick, Mushu, a wise-cracking dragon (voiced by Eddie Murphy). She trains, and soon faces the Huns eye-to-eye to protect her Emperor.
The film is gorgeous to look at, with a superior blend of classic and computer-generated animation. Directors Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook make the best of it: a battle in the snowy mountains is as thrilling as the best Hollywood action films. The menacing Huns are not cute but simple and bad. The wickedness is subtle, not disturbing. The film is not a full-fledged musical, as it has only five songs (the best, "Be a Man," is sung during boot camp). Eddie Murphy is an inspired choice for the comic-relief dragon, but his lines are not as clever as Robin Williams's in Aladdin. These are minor quibbles, though. The story is strong, and Mulan goes right to the top of Disney animated heroines; she has the right stuff. --Doug Thomas
