ebooks on IM out there, just hard to find. When a guy is
offering a $27.00 ebook with
$1500.00 worth of bonuses (ok, maybe Im exaggerating a little)
somethings up,
wouldnt you think? However, if your writing an ebook on a very
tight, specific niche
market this is where things turn in your favour. Little
Supply+Lots of Demand=Hefty
Sales at a premium price. You know your onto a good idea when
searches on google and
amazon show up with zero results for your topic. This is when
you should get excited
and start creating. Look at the prices of print books and
base your pricing on that if
your really stuck for a figure. Of course this is just a general
guideline, some say pricing
amounts to psychology and using the right words too hook you.
This is true to a certain
point. I mean look at all the brochures and fliers you read
every week, everyone tests,
tests, and tests more. Testing comes with a price, it takes
manpower to test the price
feasibility of any product. Another strategy to consider when
pricing your ebooks is the
estimated income of your target market. How much are they
making? Is your target
market lawyers, teachers, or people in lower income brackets?
The only way to know this
is by....RESEARCHING. Some people claim that prices that end
with a certain number
sell better than others that end with different numbers. Reality
is...who really knows for
sure? No one does, once youve reached a price that seems to be
in your target markets
comfort level and you seem to be getting STEADY sales...stick
with it. As you may have

other people. Do I have a degree in economics? Heck know! Do I

to something. The bottom line is this folks, come up with a
niche market that has little or
no competition on the web. Start to price your ebooks on the
basis of print books (thats
if there are any) and go from there. Follow your gut instinct,
acquaint yourself with your
target market WAY before hand and see how valuable your
information may be to them.
What is THEIR perception about what carries value and what

Last August the New York Times announced that e-books were not selling. A reporter wrote, "The main advantage of electronic books appears to be that they gather no dust. Almost no one is buying. Publishers and online bookstores say only the very few best-selling electronic editions have sold more than a thousand copies, and most sell far fewer."

Is that true? I've learned to weigh everything the media tells us with more than a grain of salt. As the author of numerous traditionally published books, as well as the author of several popular e-books, I'm here to tell you that e-books are selling and selling far better, in many cases, than most traditional books. Here's just a little proof:

Stephan Mahaney made $800,000,
Michael Campbell made $10,000,
David Garfinkel made $35,000,
Larry Dotson made $5,000 in less than a month,

My own "Hypnotic" series of e-books, all published by Aesop Marketing, have broken sales records and left my printed books in the dust: "Hypnotic Writing" has sold in the tens of thousands---at $29.95 each---for more than two years now; My follow-up book "Advanced Hypnotic Writing," has sold well into the thousands; and the recent work by myself and Larry Dotson, "The Hypnotic Writing Swipe File," came out of the gate with a bang---selling at the whopping price of $197 a copy.

And keep in mind that these e-books have no printing or shipping costs associated with them. They are "invisible" books. You don't have to warehouse them, either. When they sell for $29.95 or $197, that's virtually all profit. (A very nice feeling.)

I don't blame you if you are skeptical. I was, too, at first. Mark Joyner, CEO of Aesop Marketing, begged me for two years---years!---to give him a work of mine that he could release as an e-book. I'm a book lover and never thought anyone would EVER buy an ebook. (So much for me being a futurist.)

I learned my first pilates mat on a specialized gym with a teacher, third in line with Joseph Pilates. Classes were really expensive and I started searching on internet for a video with the original excercises as the ones I learned. I did not have too much luck, until I saw this video and order it. It was the exact same routine that I was taught; so I left the gym and do them at home now. For any pilates course, you should always go to a licensed teacher first because if you don't you might damage your spine. There are certain positions which need help at the beginning and you can't do them on your own. After that, you can buy this DVD with confidence is really good. The purpose of the pilates workout is for flexibility,back problems and posture correction. They are excellent for herniated disk, I have two and after six months practicing pilates the pain was gone for good.

I have the DVD "Classical Pilates Technique - The Complete Mat Workout Series", which I love. But some of the stuff wasn't totally clear to me, such as when you start breathing in some of the exercises, even though it was touched on--maybe it's just me. So I got this book. When the book is open to an exercise, each exercise has a set of four pictures on the left page and on the right page there are complete instructions. I think it is useful as it is another view of what you are trying to do, so in complements the video I have. If I could only have either the book or the video, I would pick the DVD, but the book is nice to have.



A warning: Pilates, in a reference to the fact that a lot of other fitness teachers at the time were sick or had physical problems, referred to that incongruity as follows: "This is the '[N-word] in the wood pile.'" He used quotes to indicate that it was an expression, which it was at the time. This is on page 113, which is the second book within the book, originally published in 1934. Pilates himself had excellent health and was sure his system would give people excellent health.

I received this drive for Christmas. It lasted two and a half months of light use before failing inexplicably. Blinking front indicator light, but the drive won't spin up and no computer I connect it to will recognize it. The day before it worked fine. Tech support was unhelpful, and I'm loathe to exchange the unit for another from the manufacturer. The drive is sealed inside the plastic shell, making removal difficult. I would not use this drive for anything valuable, it's cheaply made and untrustworthy.

Being a big Peter Pan fan (I saw it in the theater when it was first released back in 1952) and love this DVD. Great clean up and restoration of the film yet, plus lots of goodies. Great DVD and worth every penny for the Peter Pan Fan.

Ever wondered how the most successful children's book writers get their ideas? The answer may surprise you.

Most children's books are based on the same exact story - good versus evil.

Ex. Harry Potter vs Voldomort. Cinderella vs her wicked stepmother. Pinnochio's conscience vs. outside influences.

Next we add a protagonist and an antagonist.

Ex. Don't we love it when Harry Potter and Malfoy get into it? Or when Hansel and Gretel turn the tables on the witch?

Finally a best selling story needs conflict and a big problem that the main character needs to overcome.

Ex. If Harry lets Lord Voldemort come back without a fight, the fate of the magic world could be at risk.

Ex. If Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire don't outsmart Count Olaf then their fortunes and their lives might be at risk.

Most inexperienced writers spend so much time thinking about the setting, the scenery and the color of their characters hair that they forget that the plot is what editors and their audience is looking for.

Hogwarts is a wonderful school. But who would care about it without Harry Potter and his friends.

The castle in Sleeping Beauty would just be another castle in the middle of nowhere without the princess and her prince.

And the three little pigs houses could have been made of snow, cotton or peanuts for all we would care without three clever little pigs and a wolf.

Kids love it when good triumphs over evil. Give them a story they can cheer over.

Also spend time really getting to know your characters. Create a history for each character, even if most of their histories will never see the inside of your book.

Your characters must seem real. Your audience must be able to relate to them and really care about what happens to them.

That in a nutshell is how you write a best selling children's book. The editing, minor scenic details and hand wringing anxiety can come after you finish the book.

I can think of much worse Why does everyone have a major problem with Howard The Duck? After watching it, and reading some of the reviews, I have to seriously disagree with all the negative reviews on here. Sure, it's in no way a classic, and Lea Thompson has really big hair (the hairstylist should have been shot for crimping her hair!!!), but it's fun, it's slightly out there, and there is no other movie that can compare to this. Perhaps Who Framed Roger Rabbit? but only very slightly. Maybe the reason why this is getting bad reviews, is because reviewers can't get past the idea there is actually a person in that suit. Yes it's not CGI, it's not any fancy technology (even in a film by George Lucas), there is a person in a duck suit. Really! The plot is pretty simple, but you get the impression it's aimed more towards adults, than a nice little film aimed at the kiddies. Howard gets transported to earth, where he meets singer with the Cherry Bomb, Beverley, who can't believe she's talking to a duck. She takes him to a friend of hers, a scientist, who can't believe he's talking to a duck ... The story goes on. Then we meet Jeffrey Jones, who is responsible for bringing Howard to earth, and then he turns into a Dark Overlord (here's where I find the resemblence with Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) The best part of this movie is definitely the songs. I started rocking out to the song at the end "Howard The Duck", which I'm now officially in love with, and need to get on my mp3 player (hint hint hint). Why can't I find it anywhere??? I need it and I needed it yesterday. Lea Thompson is brilliant, right down to her clothing, which is seriously eighties, along with her hair. She's the perfect kooky match to Howard, and even sings!!! I was expecting to see it was dubbed, but she actually sang! The girl can sing. It's amazing watching Howard interact with everything on Earth, and you've got a heart of stone if you don't feel for him. You do get past the idea that it's a guy in a suit, and if you don't laugh at the quiff he gets when he's in bed, you have no sense of humour. To all the reviewers who think this film is bad - yes, you're entitled to your opinion, but did we watch the same film? Go watch a 'classic'.
