Because my conservative religion prohibits the practice of witchcraft I promised myself to read the first Harry Potter book to see if I can recommend it to my child. This was because the main character of this book is a practicing sorcerer/warlock and I would have a problem recommending it to my daughter. This was also because I know there are five more Harry Potter books and the seventh is on the way, so there are a lot of related debates all around, thus it is almost impossible to keep her out of item. So, my decision was to read the book first and to have a decision
Despite of fact "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is a very well-written book, I have to stand by my original opinion after reading it . The book is gripping and I found it hard to put it down the weekend I read it. But that is part of my problem. Unlike the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien the world in the Harry Potter books is very realistic and similar to ours. Witches and warlocks are seen as just another lifestyle. The line between reality and fantasy is blurred.
And since it is the first of a series of seven, my child would spend several months absorbed in a world of beliefs that are at odds with the values we are trying to teach her. Perhaps when she will be much older and better able to distinguish between fantasy and reality ... we'll have to see.

The Halo Graphic Novel
The Halo Graphic Novel
Marvel and Bungie team up to create The Halo Graphic Novel HC based on the best-selling video game. The graphic novel brings the Halo universe to life for the first time in the sequential art medium in a 128-page, full color, high quality, jacketed, hardcover graphic novel. Stories include: "Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor" by Simon Bisley and Lee Hammock. When communications from a Covenant agricultural support ship are mysteriously terminated, an Elite Commander and his squad of Special Forces are sent to investigate. In "Armor Testing" by Ed Lee and Jay Faerber, the only way to test Spartan armor, is to send a Spartan. The question is what's really being tested? In Tsutomo Nihei's "Breaking Quarantine," the untold tale of Sergeant Johnson's escape from the clutches of the Flood menace is revealed! Finally, Moebius and Brett Lewis' "Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa" tells of the subtler, more dangerous fights taking place on the streets of New Mombasa and in the hearts and minds of men. Cover by Phil Hale. Gallery art created a number of elite artists including Rick Berry, Geof Darrow, Scott Fischer, Sterling Hundley, Craig Mullins, George Pratt, Juan Ramirez, George Staples, Justin Sweet, John Van Fleet and Kent Williams.
Customer Review: Halo idelism in cognitive junctures of corbalitive conclusions
From an outsider's standpoint looking in, they say one should never judge a book by it's cover but I will do as such nonpussed because the dynamics of the combative format is such that of such exclusite artful review that need I say more??
Customer Review: Disappointing
As a hardcore Halo fan, this is just downright disappointing. None of the stories follow Master Cheif, or Captain Keyes, or anyone remotely recognizable from the Halo universe except Sergeant Avery Johnson. The story with Sergeant Johnson is the only one worth viewing. This is an ok gift idea for someone you know who enjoys all things Halo, but if you really wanna get them something of value, go with one of the real novels instead.

Duma Key: A Novel
Duma Key: A Novel
No more than a dark pencil line on a blank page. A horizon line, maybe. But also a slot for blackness to pour through...
A terrible construction site accident takes Edgar Freemantle's right arm and scrambles his memory and his mind, leaving him with little but rage as he begins the ordeal of rehabilitation. A marriage that produced two lovely daughters suddenly ends, and Edgar begins to wish he hadn't survived the injuries that could have killed him. He wants out. His psychologist, Dr. Kamen, suggests a "geographic cure," a new life distant from the Twin Cities and the building business Edgar grew from scratch. And Kamen suggests something else.
"Edgar, does anything make you happy?"
"I used to sketch."
"Take it up again. You need hedges...
hedges against the night."
Edgar leaves Minnesota for a rented house on Duma Key, a stunningly beautiful, eerily undeveloped splinter of the Florida coast. The sun setting into the Gulf of Mexico and the tidal rattling of shells on the beach call out to him, and Edgar draws. A visit from Ilse, the daughter he dotes on, starts his movement out of solitude. He meets a kindred spirit in Wireman, a man reluctant to reveal his own wounds, and then Elizabeth Eastlake, a sick old woman whose roots are tangled deep in Duma Key. Now Edgar paints, sometimes feverishly, his exploding talent both a wonder and a weapon. Many of his paintings have a power that cannot be controlled. When Elizabeth's past unfolds and the ghosts of her childhood begin to appear, the damage of which they are capable is truly devastating.
The tenacity of love, the perils of creativity, the mysteries of memory and the nature of the supernatural -- Stephen King gives us a novel as fascinating as it is gripping and terrifying.
Customer Review: Seventy Percent Great King
I'm more than a little in awe of Stephen King. The man manages to churn out a new novel almost once a year, that is usually heads and tails above his literary contemporaries, with fresh horrors to scare the pants off you. I thought most of 'Duma Key' was one of his best in recent years. What makes King so good, so relevant, is his amazing grasp on what's contemporary, what's new, what people are talking about. Armed with this information his characters and their world become your world with references to current pop culture, music, and in the case of Duma, art.
Edgar Freemantle arrives at the fictionalized Florida key of Duma after a horrible job accident that has left him without an arm, a disolved marriage, and very little will to live. Soon though, he rediscovers a passion for art, that awakens not only a hidden talent, but an evil as powerful as his drawings are brilliant. The relationship between Edgar and the caretaker Wireman is one of the best buddy duos that King has written, and they are what propel much of the first half of the book. When the supernatural really kicks into high gear, the book enters King's 'Wizard of Oz' stage, where the scrappy protagonists go to bring back the broom of the Wicked Witch, so to speak. The book sags a bit here, and I felt like it was less scary and suspenseful and frankly a bit silly and Scooby Doo. It's not the King I'd recommend to a first timer, but it's still plenty entertaining for those who are fans.
Customer Review: Fantastic!
This is Stephen King at his best! Please do yourself a favor and read this book. I am positive that you will going to LOVE Duma key.

Customer Review: Unreliable long term WD320GB
This was easy to setup and use. It comes with a 1yr warrenty and flat out died just after the warrenty expired... The company (WD) was extremely unhelpfull and insisted the product was outside of warrenty and the only way to recover my data is to pay a lot of money to an external data recovery center. You want your data safe, and this HD is NOT safe or secure. I just bought a replacement from Seagate, and while I can't say anything about how long it will work for, they are known to be reliable and that is what you want with a HD. DO NOT BUY WESTERN DIGITAL if you value your files...

Customer Review: Great Addition To My Set Up
I purchased this xmas night (tuesday) and received it thursday morning! I have an apple computer as my main workstation and was running out of storage space quick since i recently got into video editing with Final Cut Studio 2. I got this one since it has USB, FW400, and FW800, the 2 latter which stream audio and video extremely quickly (USB 2.0 sends data in packets so HD video would stutter on playback in the editor, FireWire sends data as streams).
The Drive is Very quiet, dosnt make a peep, even when reading or writing, and there is no annoying fan noise. The sleek aluminum case never gets hot and it matches perfectly to my sleek apple laptop.
Even though it is not as portable as some other drives are marketed to be, it is still very easy to transport with WD's simple button interface. Hit the center button and the drive will eject and turn itself off! All you have to do is unplug and toss in your bag or w/e.
Must have for anyone that has a lot of music, pictures, or videos.
One thing you should all know if you didnt all ready, the reason why computers seem to get slow over time is because as a HD gets full, the seek time increases for info, getting all the large files and the bulk of your collection on an external leaves the main HD fairly clean for faster system performance.

You Can Heal Your Life
Louise L. Hay, bestselling author, is an internationally known leader in the self-help field. Her key message is: "If we are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed." The author has a great deal of experience and firsthand information to share about healing, including how she cured herself after being diagnosed with cancer.
An excerpt from You Can Heal Your Life:
Life Is Really Very Simple. What We Give Out, We Get Back
What we think about ourselves becomes the truth for us. I believe that everyone, myself included, is responsible for everything in our lives, the best and the worst. Every thought we think is creating our future. Each one of us creates our experiences by our thoughts and our feelings. The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences.
Customer Review: WOW!
Lovely book to have and to give as a gift. I bought this book for many of my friends and they have loved it. Beautiful pictures and this book trasforms you life.. It makes sense why your body hurts.
Customer Review: I would buy it again!
I have not completely finished the book yet. If you follow it correctly it will take you several weeks. It really makes you think about your life and gives you new hope. I don't have a horrible life but I can feel myself slowly getting to a place that just feels great! I have noticed a change in my life already. Positive thinking and forgiving really does work!!
Some of her theories are a little "out there" (like picking our own parents) but I just look past them and move on to other things.
Buy it if you are truley ready to be happy and make serious changes in your life. You have to be ready to really look at the real reasons why you are the way you are.

Communication is needed in all walks of life. This is the reason for us to write this article on self publishing book; to communicate it's meaning to everyone.
Today's self publishing book ArticleInternet Advertising Using Free Give Away E-books - Viral Marketing at Its BEST
Unlike all the Mini Website Landing page we have view, we give away a free E-book just for Landing on our page, but we get a ?Name and Email Address? before we give away the book, we have done this by adding the free give away at the very end of our Landing page, I have worked it out that if they did not buy then I might as well get something for my trouble i.e.: Name and Email Address, so the Landing page should always give me something.
I know the normal thinking on this, in that I am drawing attention away from the Closing the Sale but if they are not going to buy then they are not going to buy and I have lost a future customer, by using the give-away I am increasing my chances of gaining more than one customer.
I do the same on my Index page, I have compiled a load of FREE stuff into an E-book and I simply give it away just for visiting my site, I do not take any ?Names nor Email Addresses?, because most people do not like to hand out their Names and Address just to get a book, this would defeat the purpose of the book, in that I want it to go Viral.
Most people landing on my Index Page will open the free book ensuring a larger distribution of the book hence the book will draw more browsers and in effect more customers.
I do the same here as I have done on Landing pages, and placed it at the very end of the page and rather than going to the new page it is set to open a new window, there-by keeping my Main web page open.
Both FREE books are Viral or Stealth marking at its best, it may take a bit of time to expand around the web but they will and they will pay dividends in the end.
Within the Free books I have a link back to my Website and also to the Landing Page selling a Product, so even though the books are FREE and everything within the books are FREE there is one of my products in there that pays me, when it pays me I get a ?Name and Email Address?, so it may be a long way around to getting that ?Name and Address? but remember it is Viral and even though I appear not to get anything from giving away these books I really do get sales, and as such ?Names and Address?, which basically, is what counts in the end.

Transformers (Two-Disc Special Edition) [HD DVD]
Transformers (Two-Disc Special Edition) [HD DVD]
"I bought a car. Turned out to be an alien robot. Who knew?" deadpans Sam Witwicky, hero and human heart of Michael Bay's rollicking robot-smackdown fest, Transformers. Witwicky (the sweetly nerdy Shia LaBeouf, channeling a young John Cusack) is the perfect counterpoint to the nearly nonstop exhilarating action. The plot is simple: an alien civil war (the Autobots vs. the evil Decepticons) has spilled onto Earth, and young Sam is caught in the fray by his newly purchased souped-up Camaro. Which has a mind--and identity, as a noble-warrior robot named Bumblebee--of its own. The effects, especially the mind-blowing transformations of the robots into their earthly forms and back again, are stellar.
Fans of the earlier film and TV series will be thrilled at this cutting-edge incarnation, but this version should please all fans of high-adrenaline action. Director Bay gleefully salts the movie with homages to pop-culture touchstones like Raiders of the Lost Ark, King Kong, and the early technothriller WarGames. The actors, though clearly all supporting those kickass robots, are uniformly on-target, including the dashing Josh Duhamel as a U.S. Army sergeant fighting an enemy he never anticipated; Jon Voight, as a tough yet sympathetic Secretary of Defense in over his head; and John Turturro, whose special agent manages to be confidently unctuous, even stripped to his undies. But the film belongs to Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and the dastardly Megatron--and the wicked stunts they collide in all over the globe. Long live Transformers! --A.T. Hurley

Customer Review: Awesome Action for All Ages!
First, I should mention that I am a BIG fan of action films. However, I had no interest in seeing this movie when I heard it was in production. How could anything compare to the cartoon I watched as a kid? My fiance asked me to accompany him to the theatre when TRANSFORMERS opened, and I had a BLAST! This film brought back memories of my childhood and with all that's going on in the world right now, it felt good to be a kid again. The special effects are stunning and the sound is spectacular, but this film is special because it has great humor (for older kids and adults), very little foul language, and the best part of all: good triumphs over evil. I highly recommend it. Watch it with your kids and remember your childhood!
Customer Review: Who says only guys love this flick!
Talk about an awesome remake! I grew up on the cartoon, and this movie delivered cars (and trucks) transforming into robots. That being said, the rest of the movie did lack a some emotional connection. But hey, we didn't go to see the love story, we went to see Prime!

Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Having commemorated their tenth anniversary with a year-plus run commencing with In Your Honor (a double album the New York Times called an "unexpected magnum opus"), sold out rock arena shows and a toned down intimate theater trek, and a headlining gig at London's Hyde Park for a crowd of 85,000, the question looms larger than any in the Foo Fighters' career to date: What do they do for an encore?!? The answer comes in the form of "The Pretender," the first single from the band's sixth studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, out on Roswell/RCA. Produced by Gil Norton, who last worked with the band on 1997's double-platinum The Colour and The Shape (recently reissued in deluxe 10th anniversary form), Dave Grohl, bassist Nate Mendel, drummer Taylor Hawkins and guitarist Chris Shiflett have crafted a 12-track milestone that showcases and reconciles the band's every strength and sensibility in the most complex and confident Foo Fighters album to date.

As per ususal great - I am a long time fan and this met my expectations and beyond - well worth buying.
Customer Review: Ground breaking album!
Having never been much of a FF fan I was skeptical about buying the whole album. I had heard "The Pretender" and "Long Road To Ruin" so with 2 really good songs at least, I took a chance. Now it's my current favorite album and one that I'm positive I'll keep in my collection forever. After listening to it I have went and ordered all of their previous work in an attempt to find out....WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSIN'? Not many bands or musicians release albums like this anymore. Over the years there have been VERY few bands/musicians that you could rely on to deliver great albums over and over. With Foo Fighters history and credibility being a major factor (how many grammy's have they won now?), I'm curious to see what the future holds for these guys. When they release this album's follow up....I WILL PAY ATTENTION!!
